The Tower of London – Private  tour
Following a coach drive past some of London’s most famous landmarks including Big Ben and Houses of Parliament we enter the Tower before it opens to the public, guided by our very own Beefeater. We will see Traitors Gate where famous prisoners entered the Tower for the last time, and the scaffold site where the executions took place. We are also the first group to see the Crown Jewels before enjoying free time to explore the tower further.

Buckingham Place
Next we head to Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony and see the guards dressed in their world-famous tunics and busbies*.
* If the Guard Change is not taking place, we still see the Horseguards

Cruise on the Thames, pub lunch and Westminster Abbey
What better way to take in some of London’s finest landmarks than from on board a river cruise that gently floates along the Thames? After the cruise why not join us for a traditional pub lunch (not included in the price) before taking photos of Westminster Abbey

St. Paul’s Cathedral
Highlights of a visit to Wren’s masterpiece where Princess Diana was married include listening to the 1695 organ that Mendelssohn once played and visiting the tombs of Nelson and Wellington. Your tour with a professional guide will also allow you to test the unique acoustics of the Whispering Gallery, not normally visited by our tour groups. On Sundays, when viewing is restricted, there will be the opportunity to enter and enjoy one of the services.

Jack the Ripper  – Tour 4 (Operates Daily apart from Tues & Thurs) 

Part 1: Coach drive through dark London
Our tour begins with a coach drive direct to the dark side of London. We see the Old Bailey – the site of numerous public hangings as well as the Wallace Plaque where Scottish rebel leader William Wallace (made famous in the film Braveheart)  was tortured. You will also get to  and hear tales of gangland warfare, butcherous barbers and great train robbers.

Part 2: Jack the Ripper walk
As the shadows lengthen, we approach London's East End, a hotbed of crime and vice in the nineteenth century.  During the autum of 1888, terror struck when Jack the Ripper came out of the foggy dimly lit alleys just long enough to stalk and butcher his five victims. At his point we leave the coach and walk his death trail inspecting the murder sites, deciphering the evidence, and discussing this suspects.  To this day the case remoains unsolved. Come and investigate the case dfor yourself - who was Jack the Ripper?

rt 3: Dinner with Sherlock Holmes
Finally we head for the warmth of the Sherlock Homes Pub which serves a great selection of ales, fine wines & soft drinks. The pub boasts a unique collection of memorabilia and various pieces of tributary items of the great investigator.  Feeling Hungrey? Then enjoy some fish & chips or other fabulous pub food*

Windsor Castle & Runnymede
Over 900 years of royal history are waiting for you in Windsor Castle, which is perched high above the River Thames just outside of London. Your ticket allows entrance to the castle, so you can see for yourself the splendor of St. Georges Chapel and the sumptuous state apartments.  Windsor itself is a pretty town full of traditional shops and historic pubs.  After our visit to Windsor we drive through Runnymede, where King John signed the Magna Carta.

Salisbury Cathedral  with tea and shortbread!
Most tours of Salisbury are in and out within an hour. With our tour we take our time to savor one of the ‘Pillars of the Earth’ as described by Ken Follett.  Exploring the Cathedral itself, home to the unique Chapter House with one of the last remaining copies of the Magna Carta, we have the short break to enjoy tea and shortbread before taking our seat for evensong, exclusive to this tour.  As an alternative to the service you have free time to explorer the market town before rejoining the coach and heading back to London.

From the Jesmond Dene Hotel simply walk across the road into St Pancras International. Where you will be  introduced to your  guide who will be with you on the train and throughout the day.

The high speed Eurostar takes just 2 hours 15 minutes to take you through the Channel tunnel and on to the heart of Paris. Upon arrival we will take you on a panoramic coach tour of the city passing Le Louvre, Place de La Concorde and Musee D’Orsay before arriving at the Eiffel tower.

How you spend the rest of the day is up to you. Our guide will be happy to help you buy fast track tickets for the Eiffel tower, a cruise on the Seine or a tour of Le Louvre to see the Mona Lisa. Alternatively you can shop and explore and soak up the atmosphere of Parisian life at your leisure.
